Homeschooling is a blessing! It brings on more opportunities, quality time with your children, a better chance at a safer learning environment, a greater possibility for adademic success, and a way to make new friends! It's not fun to be alone on any journey you take, especially in homeschool. My advice is to seek out a group to call your own, something that you and your children would benefit from.

As homeschool moms, we need someone we can go to for help when things come up. Sometimes we need new ideas of how to teach something, or to find a better curriculum for our children if something isn't working. Other times we just need someone to sit and relax with to tell stories to and unwind...someone who understands what we are talking about. Find these moms :) It will put you more at ease knowing you have somewhere to go in times of need. It is a great way for your children to meet friends as well and get a chance to interact with others around their age. If anyone is concerned about "socialization", that could help ;)

I recently met a woman in my homeschool community who has a "homeschool tea" once a month in her home with fellow homeschool moms! It was lovely. I enjoyed meeting other moms who live the same type of life, have the same concerns and excitements, and have answers to share. There's a good mix of  personality types in such groups, so don't feel like you have to be an extrovert! Just putting yourself in the company of others who are like minded will help you build connections to use in the future, even if you don't need it now.

Homeschooling is something you don't have to do alone. Go ahead and make new friends!
