Years ago, when I was only 16, God made choice that I would move to North Carolina with my dad. When I was 20, God made choice that I would marry a young man from Australia who shared the same values and desire for godly living that I did. When I was 25, God made choice that I would have my first child. Then, when my first child was born, God put it in my heart to want to leave my job as a teacher and stay home to take care of him and my house. As he grew, God made choice to bless my husband with a good job that allowed me to continue to stay home and begin homeschooling, something that my husband and I felt was the best decision for the soul of our little one. All of my life, God has made choices for me that have bettered me in ways that are sometimes unspeakable, and all I can say is that I'm thankful!
I now have four young children in whom I daily impress upon with a godly upbringing and a desire for learning. The more I hear in the news about various states passing laws about equalizing bathrooms in schools, and the new homosexual-stained curriculum that will be enforced from kindergarten through high school, the more I'm thankful that my children don't have to go to public school. Even if I mess up a few lessons, don't exactly have scheduled days, or forget to sign my kids up for sports teams for "socialization", I feel like their little lives and hearts are so much more taken care of with me than they could be elsewere. Even with all of the sleepless nights and late nights figuring out lessons for the next day, or them crying and being unfocused during any of those lessons I just planned, and the constant thoughts of wanting to be sure they are getting what they need academically, I find myself saying, I'm thankful.
